Nobody can truly prepare you for the impact that Motherhood will have on your life, can they? It's almost impossible to put into words because becoming a Mum has such a unique and deeply profound influence on us all. 

Motherhood is life-changing in the most beautiful and unimaginable of ways. But for all its wonder, it can also turn life on its head and be an all-consuming and overwhelming force.

As a Mum, you instinctively give away so much of yourself that it sometimes feels hard to fathom how there’s room for anything else. Your own wants and needs can plunge swiftly to the bottom of the priority list, and you can start to feel disconnected from the version of ‘You’ that you were so well acquainted with pre-kids.

That process of ‘drifting away’ from yourself in Motherhood can happen very gradually. But as with most things, a steady build-up often comes to a head, and can leave you feeling shell-shocked, with your sense of self in pieces….

So finding ways to stop that spiral, and maintain a conscious grip on your identity through Motherhood from the start can really help you to stay anchored in a ‘You Shaped’ world, even when so much else feels unrecognisable.
